Oktoberfest is an annual folk festival in Munich. It starts in mid-September and ends on the first Sunday in October. It is considered the largest beer festival in the world and is attended by more than six million people every year.

The beer festival consists of a fairground and fourteen large tents, which are colossal and beautifully decorated tents. Surrounding the tents is a so-called Biergarten (‘beer garden’). Traditionally, beer is served only by the litre, beer mugs.
